Verifiable education is a 10-hour block of training delivered through organisations approved by REA.
You can choose which training provider you complete the continuing education with and whether you complete it face to face or online. The providers set their own fee for continuing education training. Some large agencies also offer training for their licensees.
Verifiable training providers advise us directly when you have completed the 10-hour programme. You can check the continuing education section of the licensee portal, after the 20th of the month following your completion to see if we have received your verifiable education information.
Use the licensee portal to check we have received your verifiable education details.
Verifiable refresher training
If your licence is suspended for less than 12 months
If your licence is suspended for less than 12 months, you will need to make sure you complete the continuing education requirements for both the calendar year in which you suspended your licence as well as for the year in which you reactivate your licence – if they are different years. The continuing education requirements for the year you suspended your licence need to be completed within 6 weeks of your licence being revived.
If your licence is suspended for 12 months or more
If your licence is suspended for 12 months or more, you will need to complete a refresher training course of 10 hours of verifiable training focused on ensuring you are up to speed with any significant issues or changes in the law. You have until the second renewal of your licence (following the revival of your licence) to complete this refresher training. This training needs to be completed through an approved provider and is set by the REA.
This training will be in addition to the 10+10 continuing education requirements you will need to complete in the calendar year after you revive your licence.
