COVID-19 Protection Framework (traffic light system) – Guidelines for real estate activities - GREEN

These guidelines have been prepared by REA in line with COVID-19 Public Health Response (Protection Framework) Order 2021 and Amendments  in consultation with REINZ, sector representatives and Government officials to support licensed real estate professionals to meet their obligations under the COVID-19 Protection Framework (traffic light system).
These guidelines must be read alongside the guidelines provided on the Unite Against COVID-19  and business.govt.nz websites.
Although the restrictions are easing, it is still important for agencies to conduct health and safety risk assessments , prepare a safety plan, and adopt processes that are appropriate for the risks arising in your area. We encourage licensees to discuss the risks and infection prevention controls with the vendor, and to ensure buyers are aware of any requirements that apply.
PLEASE NOTE: All of New Zealand is in the Orange Setting and these guidelines can be reviewed here.
These guidelines apply from 11.59pm on 25 March 2022.
GREEN SETTING GUIDELINES

There are no restrictions under the Green Setting. However, licensees are encouraged to keep good health behaviours, and to discuss any infection prevention controls with customers and clients. Face coverings indoors and good hygiene practices are encouraged.

My Vaccine Pass

From 11:59pm on 4 April 2022, there is no requirement to use My Vaccine Pass. After 4 April, businesses will still be able to use the My Vaccine Pass system if they would like toYou may determine that it is appropriate to do so depending on health risks arising in your area.

Real estate is not required to use My Vaccine Pass for real estate activities. However, My Vaccine Pass may be used as an entry requirement for customers and clients. If used, a risk assessment process will need to include engagement and consultation with workers, given that workers will need to be vaccinated. We encourage you to advise potential buyers of any requirements that may apply.

If My Vaccine Pass is used, all workers involved in the activity must be vaccinated. Sufficient workers must be on site to scan and verify My Vaccine Passes at point of entry to the property.
